OUR ROOTS

Savanna is  a popular premium cider that first launched in South Africa in 1996. Their roots are deep and stem from the old saying “an apple a day…” thus becoming the market leader in cider exports in SA and the third-largest cider brand in the world. As strong as their apple trees, produced in the Elgin Valley of the fertile Western Cape. There are now four variations including Savanna Dry, Light, Dark and their new special edition…SAVANNA LOCO; a refreshing summer time with an alcohol content of 6%. Crushed to perfection through a micro-filtration process, triple filtered and double chilled creating a clear, refreshing dry cider taste, with a touch of fresh tequila flavor.

Savanna Loco is incased in a bold and individualistic bottle; with a bright turquoise label and quirky motifs of Aztec symbols to add that spice of excitement to the party.

ADD A LEEEDLE CRAZY CAMPAIGN

The campaign was launched in April 2016, one month after introducing the first spirit-flavoured cider to South Africa, adding a “leeedle” tequila touch to the festivities of the year. “Savanna Loco. Add a leeedle crazy!”, is the flamboyant strapline used as the main theme throughout this campaign. Tapping into the energetic Mexican feel associated with the Spanish word, loco, meaning crazy. Unlocking a more upbeat drinking occasions for consumers willing to try new things and live on the edge.

Humor in their advertisments differentiatiates the brand from competitors, creating an exclusivity; Savanna clearly don’t intend to change their magic formula but rather bring you the P A R T Y – Mexican style!

ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE BEST PLACES TO BE SEEN

Savanna shows preference towards those sexy amigos ranging from ages 18 to 34 years. The target market segments individuals between 18 to 23 and 24 to 34 years of age.

The younger generation, aged 18 to 23 years, are legally entering the alcohol market and in search of a brand that is classic and easily accessible. Therefore Savanna suites them as it is the top cider brand in South Africa.
